Like many milestones in life right now things are not going as planned. We make the best of the situation and figure out how to celebrate accomplishments, and that is exactly what this family did. Having a bar mitzvah is not something you decide to do on a whim. It takes years of Hebrew school classes and many months of studying. The ritual marks the moment when a child becomes an adult in eyes of Judaism. Is a bar mitzvah in the middle of a pandemic ideal? Nope. But William was amazing. He was confident and poised and clearly all of his studying paid off. With friends and family Zoomed in he had a computer screen full of love and support. Congratulations to this unstoppable rad kid.
