Quarantine Porch Portraits 2020

Family photojournalism

Earlier this year I decided to offer spring mini photo sessions for the first time when Arizona is green and beautiful in bloom. I always offer mini portrait sessions in the fall before the holidays. But then COVID19 & social distancing got in the way my spring session plans. So instead I spent a couple weeks photographing families at home as the quarantine continued. These “Porch Portraits” reflect a very specific moment in time and I hope the images serve as a little reminder of this isolated togetherness.

When I decided to work on this project I also knew I wanted to make a difference for our community. After watching a video on azcentral.com about thousands of cars lined up to receive food assistance from United Food Bank in Mesa I was inspired to donate a portion of the profits directly to them. So far I have donated enough money to provide close to 3,000 meals for children, seniors and families in Arizona.

If you want to help out Arizona families in this time of uncertainty follow this link to donate. Every dollar counts: https://give.unitedfoodbank.org
